As many other art quilters I started by making traditional quilts many years ago. I still make a trditional quilt once in while, mostly as a gift to my loved ones. This was a really large bed quilt that I made for my friend’s lake house. I started it one year ago, I even know the exact date- February 23rd, 2023. It took me exactly one year to finish it.
It is not perfect, but that’s the best what I could do in a country that has no quilt shops. I had to use what I had, some fabrics that I brought to Litrhuania 10 years ago when I moved from the US.
It measures 96×96 inches. And yes, it is hand quilted! Let’s look at some photos:
Hand quilting took me only 6 weeks:
The quilt was so large that I had no space to take a better photo than the quilt spread on the bed:
Stay tuned, because I am hand quilting another bed quilt!
